How to become an Eta bankas user?

If you have a bank account with Ūkio bankas and are willing to become an Eta bankas user, you have to draw up an Internet Banking Services Agreement. You may do this in any Ūkio bankas Branch or Client Service Unit.Bring along your passport or ID card.
If you do not have an account with Ūkio bankas you will have one opened for you. After signing the Internet Banking Services Agreement you will receive the following authentication tools:

User name – a permanent name specified in Appendix 1 to your Internet Banking Services Agreement. The user name is used to identify the user in the system.

A password which you may choose to change any time.

A PIN list card – a plastic card with printed PIN codes. PIN codes are used for connection to Eta bankas.

A TAN list – a unique set of TAN (Transaction Authorization Number). TAN codes in Eta bankas are used for signing documents; it is the equivalent of an electronic signature. The TAN code may be used only once and becomes invalid after entering. After all TAN codes from the list have been used the client is issued a new list.
Instead of PIN and TAN password cards you can acquire an electronic digipass or, if you do not want to have any of them, you can use a mobile electronic signature, RC USB key or personal identity card.

How to protect the log-in data?

Remain vigilant! Ūkio bankas never sends e-mail messages to the clients asking for their passwords or codes of connecting to Eta bankas. Read more about a popular form of data theft (the so-called Phishing) on www.esaugumas.lt (in Lithuanian).

Protect your data! Be sure that your data of connecting to Eta bankas do not become known to unauthorised persons. If you have a suspicion that your data of connecting to Eta bankas have become known to unauthorised persons, immediately change the password of connecting to Eta bankas.

Verify the Security Certificate! Connection between the Bank and your Internet browser is secured with the certification company VeriSign Inc. certificate confirming that you are browsing the Bank's website. After opening the window where you enter the password and PIN codes of connecting to Eta bankas always check whether the website is secured with the security certificate: the right bottom corner of your browser or the right side of the field where you enter the desired website's address must always display the symbol
– if the symbol is present, the website you browse is secured.

Eta bankas security is ensured by IBM hardware. Information is encrypted using the standard data security protocol SSL 3.0 acknowledged by most financial institutions. We hold a certificate from International Electronic Signature Certification Centre VeriSign Inc. confirming that data is sent via the internet with 128-bit encryption.

How does Eta bankas "recognize" the users?
