Cheques
A cheque is a security drawn in a legal form obliging the Bank to pay out the sum specified in the cheque to a person or a company. Cheques are convenient to use instead of cash to pay for goods and services or receive small sums of money from other persons.

What types of cheques are offered by Ūkio bankas?

Bank cheques
Ūkio bankas offers DZ Bank AG cheques in euros and Bank of America N.A. cheques in the US dollars.

With bank cheques you may inexpensively send money to your foreign partners, pay for goods or services (e.g. for subscription to publications, tickets etc.).

Payment by bank cheques is recommended when payments are not urgent and amounts are not big.

What cheques are collected (cashed) by Ūkio bankas?

Ūkio bankas cashes American Express and Thomas Cook traveller's cheques (in EUR, USD and GBP). Other cheques are accepted for collection.

Ūkio bankas collects bank cheques, order cheques and other types of cheques in basic currencies of the world. Money for collected cheques is credited to your account with Ūkio bankas. If you do not have a bank account it will be opened for you.

Cashed and collected cheques are subject to a commission fee set forth in Ūkio bankas pricelist.
Note: We advise you to accept cheques only from reliable persons as the bank does not guarantee that cash will be really paid against the cheque. We advise you to avoid payment of large amounts in cheques. If you have doubts as to the reliability of a person willing to draw a cheque or to the safety of payment by cheque you can offer settlement by bank transfer.

How to draw a bank cheque and how much does it cost?

Bank cheques may be drawn by the Bank's officer at the nearest Ūkio bankas Branch or Client Service Unit. For bank cheques you need to have an account with Ūkio bankas. If you do not have an account with Ūkio bankas, it will be opened for you. Make sure that the required sum for drawing the cheque is available in your account with Ūkio bankas. Money may be transferred to the account or deposited in cash. You will have the cheque issued after paying the commission fee.
Issued cheques are subject to commission fees set forth in Ūkio bankas pricelist.
