Winners of the most beautiful card competition are announced

Yesterday, a competition of the most beautiful children’s drawings organised by Ūkio bankas during which children could draw their imaginary bank card, was closed. Two girls from Kaunas – Nomeda Kniuraitė and Ėvė Šarakauskaitė soon will be able to enjoy their MasterCard prize – Nintendo Wii consoles. More than 1000 drawings were submitted for the competition and over 170 thousand votes were received for the most beautiful children’s works.
„We are happy with the fact that children were active in submitting their drawings for the competition. It was a great opportunity for them not only to compete for the prize in creative manner but also to get acquainted with the background of bank’s transactions and finance. Children were encouraged by the possibility to create payment cards of individual design according to their drawings’, - said Jūratė Kajackienė, Director of Ūkio bankas Payment Cards Department.
By 10 540 votes, the popular games computer Nintendo Wii from MasterCard went to N. Kniuraitė from Kaunas. The drawing and the idea of the girl was the most attractive to the voters. Another girl from Kaunas, nine-year old Ė. Šarakauskaitė will also be able to enjoy the gift – the girl was the one who managed to distribute the biggest number of the cards to her friends at the beginning of the competition.
At the beginning of the competition, the children, who took part in the excursion in the bank were familiarized with the rules of competition and received payment cards samples for card image drawings. Children also distributed cards to their friends competing who will distribute the biggest number.
All participants delivered their drawings for the competition to the nearest Ūkio bankas unit where they came together with their parents. Here, they could get acquainted with new banking service, relevant to families raising small children – supplementary cards.
Little participants and their parents found out how to responsibly plan finance of all the family and to use payment cards since new service allows to create family card system with the main account and card limits managed from it.
Rules of the competition stated, that all children could create their own payment cards until 16thJanuary and then all drawings had to be submitted to the competition organisers. After one week, 23rdJanuary, online voting started where everyone could vote for the most beautiful payment card created by a child. Total number of votes was almost 170 thousand for alldrawings.
